The Vineyard

Developed in 60. 000 flat m2 by the Sea, growing the varieties of Moschato, Mavrodaphni, Korinthiaki, Moschatela, Tsaoussi, Goustolidi or Vostilidi or Avgoustolidi, Theiako and Araklino. In addition, there are collaborating vine growers in the same area but also in the zone of Robola.

The Vineyards

The manor’s privately owned vineyards, covering 60. 000 m2 and the 100. 000 m2 covered by the collaborating vineyards are located in the area of Paliki- in one of the two major vineyard zones of Kefalonia in which rare Greek varieties have survived and they are still growing.

Varieties growing in the area’s fields is Mavrodaphni, giving the Very Superior Old Pale ( VSOP ) to Mavrodaphni of Kefalonia, Korinthiaki, Moschato of Kefalonia ( or otherwise Moschoudi ), giving the controlled appellation of origin to Kefalonia, Tsaoussi, Goustolidi and in a smaller field, Araklino and Theiako.

A number of the aforementioned varieties are the evolution of the varieties of the Homeric age and they offer in co- vinification the local wines of Mantzavinata.

The vineyards are extended in a plain enclosed by small hills in the area Vatsa- Katogi. They are located at the sea’s altitude, approximately and at a distance of just 800 metres.

The orientation of the vineyards is south- western whereas they are cultivated in the organic method.
